A clear reality check for us.

The result shows just how close the competition is currently and that if you do not arrive with the right mindset, endeavour and team focussed attitude then you will not get the desired result.

Two weeks into the second round of the season we’ve had a win and a loss.

A win against Yankalilla and a loss against Langhorne Creek. We are playing good, competing football but there is still for plenty of room for improvement. Up against the old foe from down the road today we are expecting a tough contest, Good luck to all grades

Another great team effort from the boys against Creek over the weekend.

Came away with a big win to get the wheels rolling for the back end of the season. Everyone did their bit and played their role – I was very pleased!

We look forward to taking on our home team rivals this Saturday. Go Bays!

LANGHORNE CREEK3. 3 (21)
ENCOUNTER BAY8. 11 (59)

Goal Kickers: Fletcher Gniel 2, Reilly Weidenhofer 2, Otis Althorp, Keane Jamieson, Tyler Wiese, Braxton Watson
Best Players: Ryley Bastalec, Oliver Martin, Hudson Brown, Otis Althorp, Zane Garrett, Owen Ashworth

After a tight last game against Langhorne in the first set of games, we come away with a 6 goal win.

Big games from our leadership group helped us get a good start and keep the lead, while our young core played strong roles around the ground.

Dominant games from Ryley Bastalec and Olly Martin helped us win in the mid while Fletcher Gneil and Reilly Weidenhofer kicked 2 each up forward.

Another good, competitive game to watch.

The Creek tested our defense at times with some fast paced attack, but the Bays defenders stood up well.
With our midfield working hard and some excellent ball movement our forward line had many scoring opportunities.

Leo Tarca was a stand out in this game and ended up with 2 goals.

Tyler Wiese played his last game for the Mini Colts and his efforts (in this game and the season so far) were applauded by his team-mates at 3 quarter time before he went on to play a great game for the Junior Colts.

Best Players: Hunter, Jordyn, Leo, Sam, Ollie

Moddies U8/9s

We travelled to Langhorne Creek in cold conditions.

Due to lack of players from Langhorne Creek, an under 10s game did not happen. This meant we had a full 16-man squad to play a full game for Under 9s.
Our boys started the game in style, getting the scores on the board early.

In the second quarter Langhorne Creek came back at us with their all, making it a 6-point lead to us at Half Time.

The third quarter saw a tough skilled contest between two young teams wanting to give it all. In the last quarter our boys regrouped, manned up and out played Langhorne Creek to go away with a good wine.

Great Team Effort and well deserved.

Best Players: Thomas Williams, Tex Jelfs

U14 Girls

Sunday’s earliest match of the round was brisk, but the sun shone on our game.

Goolwa assisted with some of their best to boost our numbers against McLaren for a full-side.

A combination of mixing up training this week, the girls reading the play as a team and the stand-in umpire (McLaren A-Grade coach) we lifted to show a more unified play.

Best players: Raffi, Dhana, Maddie

Only a few games left of our season and the girls look promising moving into next season.
