Rd 15 v Strathalbyn

We welcome the Strathalbyn football and netball clubs and their supporters to Encounter Bay today for what will be a pivotal game in the A-Grade for both football teams.

It is also a special day for the club and our A-Grade Captain, Tyson Neale who plays his 200th game of senior footy for the blue and gold.

Tyson has played some extraordinary games among those 200, making him the best player of those that have represented the club over such a long period.

As the club’s longest serving captain and the only current A-Grade player selected in the recent ‘Team of the Century’ no one could doubt his commitment to this club and his team-mates.

We are sure everyone joins the committee in wishing Tyson all the best for what will be a memorable day.

It was great to get back on the winner’s list with a clean sweep last weekend and hopefully we can continue to push towards the upcoming finals series with more of the same. With only four games to go it is now time for the players to be ultra-committed to training and their team-mates, as we are very capable in all grades when at our best.

Opportunities like this do not come around every season and it appears that we are still yet to find what is required on-and-off the field to give all grades a real opportunity for success.

It is really very simple – be invested in your club and your footy for the next two months!

The club extensions have begun and there have been many surprised by the extent of the size of the new building. Remember these works have been planned with the thought in mind that it will accommodate the clubs needs for the next 30 years. We are sure there is much excitement surrounding the extension/refurbishment of the club and any help over the next six months will be greatly appreciated.

Go Bays!
