Rd 18 v Mclaren

A big welcome to the McLaren Football Club and McLaren Vale Netball club today.

Last week was overall a pretty good day for the footy club with wins in three of the four games.

Great to see some young guns stepping up in the senior teams with some late withdrawals from sides that were already decimated with injuries and illness.

It appears that all sides will compete in this year’s finals series. A very pleasing result for the club indeed– although the Junior Colts need to get back on the winners list to cement their spot, depending on how other results may fall.

Good luck to the Mini Colts this Sunday as they compete in the annual Mini Colts carnival at McLaren.

Congratulations to the Netball club on the organisation of Ladies Day last Saturday and to all those that attended, raising a substantial amount for Breast Cancer research. It appeared that there were several best-on-ground performances and that everyone enjoyed the event.

Tonight, we have our final 100 club draw! Please stay around for a meal and some entertainment as this is the last home game for the year and apart from the Presentation Dinner the club will be closed for much of the summer due to the renovations currently underway.

Thursday night meals will continue as long as is possible and definitely while training for any of the teams continues.
Special mention and huge thanks to Simon and Kirsten Pitman from Nino’s Cafe for their very generous donation in providing a fantastic meal a couple of Thursday’s ago.

Nino’s Cafe are already a valued partner of the club and to find the time to provide and prepare the meal was greatly appreciated by all. Thanks also to their staff who assisted on the night.

Good luck today in the A-Grade as we take on the undefeated McLaren.

Go Bays!
