The second half of the season has not gone to plan with disappointing losses against Langhorne Creek, Victor Harbor and Myponga/Sellicks.

Our focus moving forward is to develop further on the key things we know are non-negotiable for us to play our best football. We have shown that when we play our best football it’s good enough to challenge and control games, even against the strongest teams in the competition.

Mount Compass as always have troubled many good sides this year. We will need to be on our best to match their intensity at the contest.

On an individual note I’d like to congratulate, Cohen Pettitt, Marcus Lippett, Lachlan Williams and Andy Fyfe for representing the Southern District Zone in the 2022 State Country Championships as well as Callum Tonkin, Nick Marshall and Tyson Neale for representing the Great Southern Football League in the association.

They represented the club with pride, performed exceptionally and learnt plenty from the experience.

Boys didn’t get the job done over at Pongy but put up a great fight with a depleted side.

This week we go in very thin once again against Compass with lots of outs and are looking forward to the challenge ahead. This is a great opportunity for some of the younger brigrade to showcase what they are capable of in larger roles/bigger responsibility.

Goal Kickers: Keane Jamieson
Best Players: Otis Althorp, Zane Garrett, Ryley Bastalec, Mason Kreuger, Braxton Watson, Hudson Brown

Mini Colts

The Bays MInis struggled to get any flow going in this game and Myponga made us pay for any mistake we made.

Hunter put in a great effort around the midfield, Jordyn was solid in the ruck and marking contests and Ollie T showed great skills in his first Minis match.

Thanks to Ollie T, Harlow and Nate N for stepping up from the moddies and playing well.

Best Players: Hunter, Kobi, Jack J, Ollie T, Jordyn, Millar

Moddies U10s

On another crisp morning, our under 10s had the opportunity of using 3/4 of the oval, with only two games being played. We fielded 18 kids, and the words like ‘wow’ and ‘amazing’ were heard coming from the crowd.

Our boys meant business and we dominated from the first bounce. The use of the ball was amazing to watch, with each and everyone involving there team mates, by either handballing and/or kicking it to each other, shepherding and even congratulating each other on there effort.

These kids are really growing some amazing skills week-to-week. They are really absorbing what we are teaching them at training, in skills and role playing. This week our awards were given to George and Liam, for there effort and classy marks and also for there behaviour at training, encouraging each other, being role models for there team mates.

Our kids will look forward to the next challenge against Mount Compass. Make an effort and come see the smile on these kids faces!

Moddies U8/9s

Once again the Mudlarks did not have an U9s team – we decided as a group we would not travel to Myponga for this week to only have to play a scratch match against ourselves. Some of our players did go along and support the other junior teams – good team spirit!

U14 Girls

Another win for this very strong team.

This time the Bays wore the Yankalilla Guernseys and assisted in a 1 point win against one of the usually stronger sides Willunga.

We played Strong in the mid to forward, and Willunga had to be playing their hard defensive game. As the time wound down, was great to hear the siren go with 1 point advantage to us.

Mention to Raffi, (aptly named one of our pocket rockets) who played one of her hardest games yet, tackling and shepherding for the full 4 quarters. Crowd erupted with her near goal on the umps whistle.

Best Players: Mathilde and Hayley
