We welcome the Langhorne Creek Football Club for our first home game of the year.

Season 2022 got off to a great start last week with all grades having terrific wins. Thanks to all those that have worked tirelessly over the last few weeks to enable us to get all teams on the park with all the necessary coaching, administration, and support staff in place. The job behind the scenes is getting more and more time consuming and complex so if you have any spare time to help in any way the club would be most appreciative.

‘No volunteers = No Club’

Over the off season there have been many meetings and planning as the club commences the stage 2 improvements and extension of the members area of the building. This will be a huge undertaking as it is not as straight forward as the work already undertaken. This stage has already started with the coaches’ boxes nearing completion. Congratulations to
all involved.

On the football front we are pleased to have good numbers through all grades and are excited to have several local boys back to the club full time. Particularly Jake Tarca, Lachie Williams and Marcus Lippett who all featured strongly in last weeks A Grade win against Yankalilla.

It is also outstanding for the future of the club to see so many young players making their way into senior footy with last weeks Reserves side being one of the youngest fielded for many years. Also, our underage teams through all grades are looking solid and all have accredited coaches in place.

We have had some issues with bullying in the very junior grades and would confirm that we have an anti-bullying policy in place that may well see your son or daughter suspended if this is an ongoing occurrence. The club takes this matter very seriously and we urge all parents to have a discussion with their children outlining the importance of being part of a team at the Encounter Bay Football Club.

Anyway, have a great day, enjoy the footy and our great facilities. Go Bays!
